Oh good Lord...

...has it been January since I last visited this blog! That’s what happens when you’re a reclusive, privacy obsessed, curmudgeonly socio-path. How lovely.
But alas I am not alone. I am never alone; I have the BSB staff poking me with sticks regularly to see if I am still alive. They even have a special poke stick for the job; it’s called Author Alert. If I squeak they leave me in peace for another while, but they’ll be back. They always come back.

Vic Oldham has been especially strident in the author alert department these past few weeks. I look at the calendar and I-know-wants-going-on. It’s the BSB Nottingham gig. Every year I am more and more impressed with the sponsorship, the venues, the attendance, and the general bonhomie of the thing. I have made several good friends at this event (of course I don’t tell them I’m their friend, I know, and that’s enough).

So, I am packed, and booked, and all scrubbed clean, and sitting here on the edge of my bed with my suitcase waiting-for-it-to-happen. I even have the agenda, http://boldstrokesauthorfestuk.wordpress.com/

Author alert in motion, that’s me.

I shall be reading from Silver Collar, the fourth Garoul book. As it isn’t out until December I’m printing off some of the mss pages to read from. Now, this is only the draft and it has not felt the wrath of my editor, Cindy Cresap, as yet. So be aware, if you buy the book and it looks nothing like what I read to you, that’s called editing. And I am not responsible that you have had to listen to tripe at Notts.

So, be there if you’re UK based. Nottingham has the pleasure of being either in the middle of nowhere, or halfway to everywhere depending on how you look at it. Meet me halfway for a fun weekend.

Well Gill. i just finished reading Goldenseal and have started on Ambereyes.. and its all my wife's fault.. she kept chuckling over whatever she was reading until in self-defence i finally said oh for heavens sakes whats so damn funny. \thats when i heard about tadpole... and Jolie and Hope.. Well there was nothing for it but to get the first book in the series. oh my.. you are a tease!!!!
you certainly kept me turning pages all throughout Goldenseal, dying to learn what the secrets were and the nature of the creature that was wreaking such havoc in Little Dip.
Now there is a name for you.. LOL..
needless to say i enjoyed the book immensely.
thanks for a wonderful trip through Little Dip Valley

So, I stumbled upon this series about 6 months ago. I love Were Lesfics and you are one of the reasons why. I was so glad that all 4 books were out when I discovered them but now I am sad because I have no more to read. I think it only took me a week or so to finish all 4 books because I couldn't put them down. Each book was so different yet so familiar that it flowed amazingly. I can not wait for the next book, curious what characters are going to have center stage. Is there any news you can give me on when that book might be released? Is it in works yet? Is there any spoiler you can give me? Lol.

Anyways I just wanted to express my absolute love for all of the work of yours I have read and to hope for more soon. I've reread the Garoul Series 4 times since the first time in may. So I love them a lot!

Thanks,
Duncan

Hi Duncan. Thanks for letting me know the Garoul series works for you. It's always great to hear from readers no matter if its good or bad news. I don't expect to be everyone's cup of tea. :)

I've been mega busy this year with work but I am hoping to slow down next year and get mote writing done. I'm tinkering with a new concept about witches, but the Gs are never far away. I'm not sure what the next one will be. Some ppl want Connie and Marie's story, and I have embedded this Greek Were pack idea in previous books, so I might bring that to the fore.
I am a consummate Pantser in that I never plan, I have a rough idea and sit down and write it out making it up as I go along (or as Vic Oldham says - by the seat of my pants hence pantser). But I can promise I'll be producing more next year. Hope this helps.

I just finished re-reading the Garoul series for what must now be the 5th or 6th time.
And I gotta say your characters feel more real everytime I re-read the books.
I suppose it is because you have given them enough that they take up a life of their own in my imagination.
I love those books so much, and really want to thank you for having written them.

All the best from France,

Hugues

Thank you Hugues from France. It's good to know the series works over there too :)

The Garouls will be back, don't worry.
And thank you for your support.

Hey Gill, Greetings from NYC. Hope all is well with you. I'm a big fan of all of your work and look forward to your next release, whatever it may be. As for the Garoul series, it would be cool to find out more about the wolf clan that Jolie and Andre visited. Or more Jolie and Hope, lol. Whatever you want. Take care.

Ho Noel. Sorry to be so late getting back to you but I was 'on the road'.
Now I'm back in the UK and settling in for the next few months.
As for the Garouls, I definitely have plans for the 'foreign' connection and also for a prequel with Marie and Connie, but I'm not sure what one will come first.
It's great that you took time out to write to me,and I'm glad you like the series. Hope all is well with you and yours.
